It seems like everybody on the internet is using the Law of Attraction to get everything they want in life. Jim Carrey talks about how his infamous ten-million-dollar dream check was instrumental in his success as a comedian. Oprah Winfrey is also a well-known celebrity who credits her success to working with the Law of Attraction. So, what is the Law Of Attraction, and how do you start using it? Read on to find out!
What is the Law of Attraction?
According to TheLawOfAttraction.com, “Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on.” When you focus on what is lacking or negativity, you get more lack and negativity. However, when you focus on the positive and visualize yourself achieving your goals, you receive more positive experiences and fulfill your desires.
The Law of Attraction is related to quantum physics and is being studied on a subatomic level. Basically put, it has been proven that observation can shift the behavior of subatomic particles. They act following the way the observer thinks they should act. If the behavior of electrons and protons is influenced by the observer’s beliefs, think about how that affects everything you observe (a.k.a. create)!
There are also some studies into neuroscience that support working with the Law of Attraction. For example, Dr. Joe Dispenza has a body of work that discusses using your thoughts to create physical changes in your body and to help you attract the life you desire.
Throughout time, there have been references to the Law of Attraction is the most unlikely places. Yet, Biblical and Buddhist passages seem to link to working with the Law of Attraction. For example:
“All that we are is a result of what we have thought.”
“And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.” – Matthew 21:22
While these ideas weren’t called The Law of Attraction, they are foundational in applying the Law of Attraction to achieve your goals.
Three Easy Techniques for working with The Law of Attraction
Now that you have a better understanding of the Law of Attraction let’s talk about how to start using the Law of Attraction. There are many ways you can work with the Law of Attraction.
Focus on the Positive
One of the easiest ways to start using the Law of Attraction in your life is to focus on all the things in life that bring you joy. Practice looking at the bright side of all situations that happen in your life.
If you find yourself thinking negative thoughts, stop yourself right in that instant and reframe those thoughts. For example, instead of thinking, “I’ll never be able to do that” think, “I can do anything I put my mind to.”
Learning to shift from negative to positive takes practice. The more you do it, the better you will get at it, though!
Gratitude journaling has helped many people start working with the Law of Attraction. Each night before you go to bed, note at least three things you are grateful for.
Even if you had a bad day, you might be grateful for seeing the sunshine or having food in your belly. You might have heard a funny joke during the day; you can write that in your journal, too.
The more you are grateful for, the more the Universe will give you to be thankful for!
Spend as much time focused on the things you are grateful for. Gratitude is one of the highest vibing emotions that will fuel your work with the Law of Attraction.
Make A Vision Board
Working with a Vision Board is an easy way to start using the Law of Attraction. You can cut out photos to represent your deepest desires and glue them onto a large piece of construction paper.
Find pictures to represent your dream home, perfect partner, family goals, career and financial goals, and places you want to travel.
Let your intuition guide your Vision Board, too. If you see a picture that resonates deeply, add it to your Vision Board. The Universe will bring opportunities to match the energetic themes you add to your Vision Board.
Make sure to put your Vision Board in a place you will see it every day. Then, spend time daily focusing on the things you posted on your Vision Board.
Tip: When the Law of Attraction starts working for you, and you get the things on your Vision Board, write about it in your Gratitude Journal.
Of course, you want to keep your vibe as high as possible when you work with any tool related to the Law Of Attraction. Check-in with your thoughts as they happen, and meditate on how your life will look when your dreams come true!

Before we start working on Law of Attraction techniques, I want to share something about focusing on a specific partner or job.
It is best to focus on the feeling of a happy and nurturing relationship instead of a relationship with a specific person. The same goes for wanting a particular job with a particular company. It’s better to leave the Universe some wiggle room to bring you the BEST relationship or job. Instead, focus on the qualities that you want, like a loving, faithful, caring, healthy relationship or a job that pays well, has a great work environment, upward mobility, and that you feel fulfilled by.
As you can see, it is easy to start using the Law of Attraction. A lot of the Law of Attraction principles have to do with your mood and thoughts, which you can easily work to control. Visualizing your success and maintaining the belief that the Universe is conspiring to bring you everything you want will also help. Start working with the practices I recommended today, and let me know what you manifest with the Law of Attraction.
