The Law of Attraction is a powerful tool you can use to shift energies in your life and change your circumstances. But what if you want to change how someone in your life behaves or thinks? Can you change other people with manifestation? And do you want to change other people using the Law of Attraction?

Using the Law of Attraction to get what you want

Working with the Law of Attraction can help shift a lot of situations you experience. For example, people use the Law of Attraction to manifest a partner to marry or more exciting and rewarding career opportunities. 

When you work with manifestation, you use your thoughts and behaviors to influence the energy around you, making yourself a magnet for all the things you imagine yourself having.

You can use the Law of Attraction to change your own behaviors, shifting from low-vibe tendencies to high-vibe habits. (link what low vibe /high vibe article is). Changing your own life and habits to align with things that make you happy and healthy is foundational in working with the Law of Attraction. 

But what if someone in your life is a source of frustration, sadness, or anger? Can you work with the Law of Attraction to change them so you can be happier? 

The answer might surprise you…

Change yourself to change the people around you.

The people around us are often just reflecting our own thoughts and feelings about them—or ourselves—back to us

So, if you feel insecure when you hang out with a romantic interest, that person might feel that insecurity and act in a way that triggers you to feel MORE insecure. Or, if you start focusing on the negative qualities of your partner or child, they might start acting even worse. A controlling boss might be reacting to your insecurity or fear of being controlled. 

Instead of changing the other person by using the Law of Attraction, focus on changing yourself. If you feel insecure, work on feeling more self-confident. People will see you as being more self-assured and will treat you accordingly.

If you want your child to quit throwing temper tantrums, take a good look at yourself (or your partner) and see if you are throwing temper tantrums or stomping around when you are upset. 

Getting honest with yourself about your ÒWN actions and habits will shed light on how you influence people’s energy and behaviors.

*Please don’t take this advice as victim-blaming, though. Some people are just NOT meant to be in your life and are cruel and abusive. No matter how kind you are or what you focus on, they will remain toxic. I’m not telling you to be ultra-nice to a person who abuses you or to feel like your actions or energy attracted their abusive behavior. Abuse is NEVER your fault.  

Focus on the positive

We attract what we focus on is one of the foundational ideas in the Law of Attraction. So, if you focus on a person’s negative qualities or habits that irritate you, the person you are focusing on will display more of those qualities. On the other hand, if you shift your focus to the things you love most about another person, the other person will often naturally change their behavior to fit your ideas about how they are.

This almost works magically! I’ve done this many times, myself. When I shift my thoughts about people in my life, their behaviors shift accordingly.

Look at all of the ways your partner pitches in instead of focusing on what your partner doesn’t do around the house. For example, you might find him doing the dishes or cleaning up when you didn’t ask! Or, instead of thinking about your boss being overly critical and temperamental, focus on her ability to delegate and how she always gives credit where credit is due.

It is really uncanny how well this works to shift the behavior of the people around you. 

Change Other People With Manifestation who really wants to change.

If the other person really wants to change, you can help with the Law of Attraction.

If someone in your life has confided in changing their habits, you can boost their results by using the Law of Attraction. Like a prayer, the energy you focus on using the Law of Attraction can support healing and shifts in another person’s life.

When more than one person focuses their energy on an outcome, it helps to amplify the energy or flow of the manifestation process. 

But the other person has to honestly want to change. If the person is saying what you want to hear or is not really devoted to changing—or if the person is working on manifesting a different reality than you think—the changes you seek to support might not manifest.

You can help support your friends and loved ones energetically, but you should respect their true wishes for their own lives.  

You see, change comes from the inside. Each one of us has the right to exercise free will. It is wrong to try to change a person against their will. 

That brings us to the next point…

Change Other People With Manifestation who doesn’t want to change.

Unfortunately, far too many people have tried to use the Law of Attraction to change people who didn’t want to change. So even if you have the best of intentions, like trying to help a friend struggling with addiction, you might have to accept that the person you care about needs to do the work for himself. 

You should also avoid trying to use the Law of Attraction to make a particular person love you. I know it is tempting, but it goes against their free will. Focusing your energy on making one person love you might actually block another person—a better match—from manifesting into your life. In this case, it is much better to list the qualities you are looking for in a perfect partner instead of manifesting a specific person. 


While you can use the Law of Attraction to change other people in some cases, it is really a matter of changing yourself. Because the Law of Attraction works by bringing you more of what you focus on, shifting your thoughts can help change the people around you. And, because others often mirror your behaviors, it is good, to be honest about how you act and shift your own behaviors. That way, the people around you will reflect those positive attitudes back to you. Remember, though, respecting the free will of others is essential in using the Law of Attraction.
